What is the Point?

What is the Point?                               By Sparky, aka Ron Phillips

Do you do anything without a point?  I mean anything?

Do you go to the store for no reason, even if to just look around, there is a point?

Is there a point to eating or feeding your pet?

Did you just pick the first person you thought you’d like or was there a point to pick the spouse you have now? Now if you’re sorry for it now and you want a divorce that’s a new point.

Did you have children? Wasn’t there a point? Or was it an accident? Did you keep them anyway? What was the point? Are you sorry now, and for what point?

What’s my point in keeping about 30 Superior chocolate bars in the cabinet? I don’t want to run out.

What’s the point of a vacation?

Do you correct people when they are wrong? And what is your point? I know it’s to help them be more correct, OR is it to be right yourself? There is always a point in any spoken or written word.

Now here is a question I really want you to mule over.

What's the point of living

What is the point of your life? I mean what is the point of you?

Is it possible the Bible was written with a point in mind? If you feel there was no point in the Bible, why? And if so you must have a point for your life yourself and I sure would like to know what you feel that point would be?

Many people contributed to the writing of the Bible. In fact, the Bible is a diverse collection of writings from about 40 main contributors—30 in the Old Testament and 10 in the New Testament.

Can you honestly say all these people simply had no point in the writing and were just wasting their time or was there a point?

Just like everything there was a point, it’s not yours it’s God’s Point. Do I know what His point is? Not really, but the Bible says it was to have companions in Heaven. That’s good enough for me how about you?

The Elite are Winning!

By Paul McGuire
July 13, 2015

Deep inside every man and woman is the longing for a far better world, a world without war, disease, death, and pain. Our present world is a cruel world in which every life ends in death. From the beginning of time Mankind has sought to use science and technology to create a perfect world, what some would call Utopia or Paradise. As the Human Race began to organize itself, a Scientific or Technocratic Elite rose to power by promising the masses that they could build this perfect world. Ancient Babylon represented the first historical attempt to build paradise on earth.

According to the Biblical account, Mankind began at the Garden of Eden, which was a perfect world, a true paradise. According to modern writers like Joseph Campbell, the account of the Garden of Eden and its original inhabitants was simply a myth for Man to live by. Evolutionary scientists believe that this account of Eden was a fable and that Man evolved from random chance over the course of hundreds of millions of years. In contrast, Biblical theologians believe that the story of Eden is a literal account of Man’s beginnings, although many believe that God guided the evolutionary process through what is called theistic evolution.

Despite the differences of opinion as to the exact origins of Man, there are a growing number of scientists and theologians who believe that at some point there was a great flood or climate change catastrophe which wiped out super-civilizations like Atlantis in a time period known as “pre-history.” These ancient civilizations were run by races of highly intelligent men and women who had access to technologies that in many respects are superior to the technologies we have today. The proofs of that assertion are the massive archaeological structures that have been left behind underwater or above ground as in the cases of the Egyptian pyramids, Incan temples, Mayan temples, and countless other structures around the world.

According to the Greek philosopher Plato, Atlantis was a super-civilization that was ruled by ten philosopher kings, or what could be termed a Scientific Elite or Technocratic Elite. Today, this concept has been passed down through thousands of years of human history, from the Tower of Babel in ancient Babylon, through the Egyptian god-kings, the emperors of Rome, and the European belief in the divine right of kings. The guiding philosophy of the Scientific Elite or Technocratic Elite is that they are genetically superior and more intelligent than the masses of humanity and therefore have the Darwinian right to rule.

Despite the outward façade of democracy in places like Europe and North America, the reality is that there exists a powerful elite who believe they are fully justified in ruling the world.

In 2012, Zbigniew Brzezinski, a top advisor to five U.S. presidents and co-founder of the Trilateral Commission with Rockefeller, warned of a “global political awakening” that was being driven by alternative radio, television, and the Internet. In 2010, Brzezinski said at the Council on Foreign Relations meeting in Montreal that “the major world powers, new and old, also face a novel reality: while the lethality of their military might is greater than ever, their capacity to impose control over the politically awakened masses of the world is at a historic low. To put it bluntly: in earlier times, it was easier to control one million people than to physically kill one million people; today, it is infinitely easier to kill one million people than to control one million people.” There can be no other reasonable interpretation…this is a direct threat against all who oppose being enslaved and eventually exterminated.

Apparently, the elite believe in all-out fascism and total dictatorial control beneath a corporate façade of a button with a happy face on it. In 1970, Brzezinski, a member of the Bilderberg Group, wrote a book entitled Between Two Ages: America’s Role in the Technetronic Era. Brzezinski defined the “technetronic society” as “a society that is shaped culturally, psychologically, socially, and economically by the impact of technology and electronics – particularly in the arena of computers and communications. The industrial process is no longer the principal determinant of social change, altering the mores, the social structure, and the values of society.” Brzezinski was talking about using scientific mind control technology to create the kind of Scientific Dictatorship that Aldous Huxley wrote about in his 1932 dystopian novel Brave New World. In his 1958 essay, “Brave New World Revisited,” Huxley wrote “In politics the equivalent of a fully developed scientific theory or philosophical system is a totalitarian dictatorship. In economics, the equivalent of a beautifully composed work of art is the smoothly running factory in which the workers are perfectly adjusted to the machines. The Will to Order can make tyrants out of those who merely aspire to clear up a mess. The beauty of tidiness is used as a justification for despotism… “The twenty-first century, I suppose, will be the era of World Controllers, the scientific caste system and Brave New World.”

In ancient civilizations like Babylon, Nimrod, who showed evidence of a genetic advantage over his contemporaries, built numerous cities, including the Tower of Babel, which ostensibly was built to reach into the heavens in order to worship the “Host of Heaven,” but really was a technological Stargate that allowed for the opening of an interdimensional portal where beings from another dimension could gain entrance. If all this sounds far-fetched, consider the fact that the actual translation of Babylon means “the gate of the gods.” Babylon was the world’s first one world government, one world economic system, and one world religion. The Tower of Babel was built as a ziggurat, which is somewhat like a pyramid-shaped tower. The spiritual and technological systems of ancient Babylon were known as “Mystery Babylon” and they have been passed down through secret societies for thousands of years. The entire Egyptian god-king system evolved from this, with the concept that the Pharaohs are actually genetically superior god-kings, along with the ancient pyramids, which borrow from the ziggurat architectural style of the Tower of Babel. I discuss this in my new book, The Babylon Code.

This Babylonian system, which was a spiritual, economic, and governmental system, moved through many civilizations in the ancient world and finally to Europe with its system based on the divine right of kings. One of the foundational concepts of the Babylonian system is the science of eugenics or selective breeding. From Babylon through the Pharaohs, the Caesars, and finally the Kings of Europe there has been a secret program to carefully breed within certain genetic bloodlines, which some refer to as Illuminati bloodlines. Although the idea of Illuminati bloodline families is very controversial and is rejected by most scientists, variations of the theme are being accepted as a growing number of scientists embrace the idea that Planet Earth was seeded by an extraterrestrial race hundreds of millions of years ago.

At the time of the American Revolution of 1776 a radical idea of a nation ruled by “We the People” was born. Much of the world and especially Europe was radically impacted by the ideas of the American Revolution. The Constitution declared that “We the People” have been given certain “inalienable rights from their Creator,” which means that God, and not Man or human governments grants men rights such as “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness” and these rights cannot be taken away by the whims of governments or dictators. In addition, the American Bill of Rights grants us things like “Freedom of Speech, “Freedom of the Press,” “Freedom of Religion,” “Freedom of Assembly,” “Freedom of From Unreasonable Search and Seizure” and other rights completely unique in human history, and this is the reason why America up until recently has prospered more than any other nation in the history of Mankind.

It is important to note that all of these ideas and laws that give Man freedom come directly from a Biblical worldview and Judeo-Christian philosophy. They do not come from humanistic philosophies, because almost all humanistic philosophies such as what emanated from the French Revolution, or Communism, or Hitler’s National Socialism always produce poverty, dictatorship, and the slaughter of millions of people. Despite the endless propaganda from our media and educational institutions, humanism, socialism, and Communism destroy freedom, produce extreme poverty, and end up killing millions.

Just look at how Progressive-Marxist ideas that began to explode in the 1960s counter-culture with things like the “Free Speech Movement” and the endless liberation movements have now become the most aggressive force for censoring free speech, creating micro-management and government control over every aspect of our lives, lowering our standard of living, and generally producing a fascist movement in America that acts like a contagion destroying both the freedoms and prosperity of what was once the “American Dream.” The destructive by-product of humanistic philosophies and Marxist ideas have produced the same destructive results wherever they have been applied in places like Russia, China, North Korea, Cuba, Viet Nam, etc.

It must be noted that Capitalism divorced from a Biblical worldview can be extremely destructive in that it produces wealth for an Oligarchy, but it often exploits and enslaves the ordinary man or woman. In addition, all of the Communist revolutions and the National Socialism of Adolph Hitler were directly financed by the super-capitalists who compose the elite.

In direct contrast, the truly Biblical ideas that produced the American Dream, although not perfectly duplicated, spread across the nations of Europe and many other nations in the world, producing freedom and prosperity. Again, just look at the difference between East and West Germany until the Berlin Wall was torn down during the Reagan Administration.

The educational systems and media program the masses to believe that Capitalism and Communism or liberalism and conservatism are different and competing systems. This is an illusion created by the Scientific or Technocratic Elite, who use these illusory opposing forces in what is called the Hegelian Dialectic where the goal is to raise up opposites like Communism and Capitalism for the sole purpose of creating a synthesis which is a World Socialist State, that supposedly will be a kind of Democratic Socialism, which is complete nonsense because it will actually be run by a Scientific Elite. Here in America and across Europe, the Scientific Elite have operated from behind the scenes, giving the masses the illusion that they live in a Democratic Republic and that “all men are created equal.” But the reality is that this elite simply began ruling and controlling things through a vast network of secret societies and semi-secret societies like the Illuminati, Freemasons, Bilderberg Group, Royal Institute of International Affairs, Council on Foreign Relations, Tri-Lateral Commission, Skull and Bones, Bohemian Grove, and numerous other interlocking groups. The Scientific Elite have found it more expedient to perpetuate the illusion that the common man lives in some kind of democracy, while in reality the elite is controlling things through shadow governments. Members of this Technocratic Elite like Brzezinski, Aldous Huxley, and others have promoted the concept of a Scientific Dictatorship where scientific mind control and psychotronic weapons convince the masses that they are free when in reality they are becoming slaves in a new global feudal state run by an Oligarchy.

The Fabian Socialist, Bertrand Russell in his 1952 book The Impact of Science on Society, explained this Scientific Dictatorship. Russell wrote:

“I think the subject which will be of most importance politically is mass psychology. Mass psychology is, scientifically speaking, not a very advanced study…. This study is immensely useful to practical men, whether they wish to become rich or to acquire the government. It is, of course, as a science, founded upon individual psychology, but hitherto it has employed rule-of-thumb methods, which were based upon a kind of intuitive common sense. Its importance has been enormously increased by the growth of modern methods of propaganda. Of these the most influential is what is called ‘education’. Religion plays a part, though a diminishing one; the Press, the cinema and the radio play an increasing part.

What is essential in mass psychology is the art of persuasion. If you compare a speech of Hitler’s with a speech of (say) Edmund Burke, you will see what strides have been made in the art since the eighteenth century. What went wrong formerly was that people had read in books that man is a rational animal, and framed their arguments on this hypothesis. We now know that limelight and a brass band do more to persuade than can be done by the most elegant train of syllogisms. It may be hoped that in time anybody will be able to persuade anybody of anything if he can catch the patient young and is provided by the State with money and equipment.

This subject will make great strides when it is taken up by scientists under a scientific dictatorship.”

In Mankind’s early history, Man did not separate science, technology, and the supernatural. The ancient super-civilizations integrated occult technology and science along with spirituality. There were no false dichotomies. The modern Scientific Elite understands this. This is why Sir Arthur C. Clarke said that “Science is magic.” Clarke was not trying to be clever; he was making reference to a principle.

Separation from Church and Politics, is a Lie

Separation from church and politics, is a lie. Funny those that know this will read the following. Those that want to believe this to be true will continue to live in the lie, and won’t read it. So, why post if it won’t help, I just pray one person will read it and think about what is happening in America and will wake up, just one.

The following is from: http://www.newswithviews.com/Rae/debra263.htm
Rightly understood, the Bill of Rights does not tell citizens what they may do, but rather it delineates what government may not do. George Washington was adamant, “If I could entertain the slightest apprehension that the Constitution … might possibly endanger … religious rights … I would never have placed my signature to it.” In his Farewell Address, the father of our nation maintained, “Do not anyone claim to be a true American if they ever attempt to remove religion from politics.” No “impregnable wall” exists.

Accordingly, chief architect of the Constitution, James Madison declared religion to be “the basis and foundation of Government.” Too the Virginia Convention (12 July 1788) he proclaimed, “There is not a shadow of a right in the federal government to intermeddle with religion.” Word crafter of the First Amendment, Fisher Ames fought tirelessly for prominence of the Bible within America’s public schools. In his words, “Its morals are pure, its examples are captivating and noble … the Bible will justly remain the standard of language as well as of faith.”

When asked the question, “What is the greatest thought that ever passed through your mind?” Daniel Webster responded, “my accountability to God. If religious books are not widely circulated among the masses in this country, I do not know what is going to become of us as a nation. If truth be not diffused, error will be. If God and His Word are not known and received, the devil and his works will gain the ascendancy. If the evangelical volume does not reach every hamlet, the pages of a corrupt and licentious literature will. If the power of the Gospel is not felt throughout the length and breadth of the land, anarchy and misrule, degradation and misery, corruption and darkness will reign without mitigation or end.”

Satan’s children, they are here.

Below is merely scripture that verifies there are children of Satan on earth.  I have added enough scripture to give a whole picture, however, you can just read the high lighted bold in the verses and get the point.

Satan's Targets are you

Rev 12:7  And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

Rev 12:8  And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

Rev 12:9  And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Rev 12:10  And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

Joh 8:39  They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham.

Joh 8:40  But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.

Joh 8:41  Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.

Joh 8:42  Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

Joh 8:43  Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

Joh 8:44  Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Joh 8:45  And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

Joh 8:46  Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?

Joh 8:47  He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

Joh 8:48  Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?

Joh 8:49  Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.

Joh 8:50  And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.

Joh 8:51  Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.

Mat 13:36  Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.

Mat 13:37  He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;

Mat 13:38  The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

Mat 13:39  The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.

Mat 13:40  As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

Mat 13:41  The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

Mat 13:42  And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Mat 13:43  Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Mat 13:44  Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

Mat 13:45  Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:

Mat 13:46  Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

Mat 13:47  Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:

Mat 13:48  Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.

Mat 13:49  So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,

Mat 13:50  And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Act 13:6  And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus:

Act 13:7  Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.

Act 13:8  But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.

Act 13:9  Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him,

Act 13:10  And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

1Jn 3:7  Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

1Jn 3:8  He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

1Jn 3:9  Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

1Jn 3:10  In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

1Jn 3:11  For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.

Mat 23:13  But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

Mat 23:14  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

Mat 23:15  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

Mat 23:16  Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!

Mat 23:17  Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?

Mat 23:18  And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty.

Mat 23:19  Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?

Mat 23:20  Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.

Mat 23:21  And whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.

Mat 23:22  And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.

Mat 23:23  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Mat 23:24  Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.

Mat 23:25  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.

Mat 23:26  Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.

Mat 23:27  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.

Mat 23:28  Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

Mat 23:29  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,

Mat 23:30  And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.

Mat 23:31  Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.

Mat 23:32  Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.

Mat 23:33  Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

Mat 23:34  Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:

Mat 23:35  That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.

Mat 23:36  Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.

Forgiveness, Sparkys point today.

Peter asked, “How often should I forgive my brothers?” Mat 18:22 70 X 70, or hey wouldn’t that be like just all the time?

Perhaps the person doesn’t deserve your forgiveness? Not a one of us deserves the Lords forgiveness, yet Christ went to the cross for that reason alone.  So if he forgives us who are we not to forgive others.

Be aware, when someone wrongs us, we must remember we don’t deserve Gods gift of eternal life, however, as a child of God we were given it at no cost to us, so try not to judge others so harshly.  Be sure to know we may be wronging someone without even knowing it.

If on the other hand, we decide to hold on to bitter thoughts of others, it does no real harm to anyone except the one that holds firm to the ill thought.

Let’s forgive others as we have been forgiven.

Smoking  Story 3 of 4

Can a very long habit of inhaling fumes be totally dismissed in only a moment?

Smoking started at a young age of 15 and had my mom known, a beating of my small butt would have most likely occurred.

A much harder spanking would have prevailed had she known Larry, who married my previous wife (another story), and I walked to Watts and rattled a fence so the liquor store owner would sell us a six pack of Country Club Stout.  Another spanking if she had known about us hitch hiking from Lynwood to the Long Beach Pike, approximately eleven miles.  However, today we are talking about inhaling smoke.

Of course, with that in mind, my butt had its last spanking somewhere around age nine.  After that, privileges were taken.  When I had a car at the grown up, know it all, age of sixteen, my keys were taken as punishment for wrong doings.  Mom never knew about the smoking, drinking or hitch hiking till many years later, when I felt it was safe enough to tell her.

Joining the USAF at the age of twenty I still had a smoking habit, buying only one pack a week which continued until age forty.

At the age of forty I became a national rep for B&J Mfg., visiting retread shops where rubber was removed from tires before retreading them.  That’s when buying a pack stopped and smoking op’s (other people’s) cigarettes started.  In my pocket was always a supply of dimes which was the cost of a cigarette back then.

I’d see a guy in the retread shop with a pack of smokes in his shirt pocket and my hand would immediately fish for a dime, kind of like Quick Draw McGraw, just waiting for the moment the trade could occur. They usually offered one, but refusal was instant, no pay, no cigarette.

It was odd in a way since I could go days without a smoke if I wasn’t around a smoker I knew.  Perhaps smoking wasn’t a problem, it was just the thought of smoking.

One morning while in prayer I said, “Lord, you know I only smoke a couple cigarettes a day, totaling eight or nine per week so why don’t you take away my desire?”

Later that same day when I met my contact at the retread shop he took out a cigarette, lit it, smoked and ground it into the pavement before I even realized he had smoked.  And, smoking has never been a desire since then.

Does the Lord answer all my prayers?  No, however He answers enough of them for me to know He is present.

My Reasons for believing in Christ, Life and death 4 of 4 A Life or Death Experience

A Life or Death Experience

Linda and I were looking at cities in Ecuador, as to where we might settle.  Cuenca was on the list and we had arrived just a few days earlier.  My camera had been snapping shots with my help, like it could be our last day to take photos.  Cuenca is very photogenic, it’s hard not to just keep snapping.
To give the photos my final touch I edited in the wee hours of the morning, hours of sleep were lost.  Giving no thought to the high altitude, 8,000 feet, and the need for rest, I was creating a major problem for my body.

One Sunday morning, after a 4:00 to 6:00 am nap, my eyes opened, it was barely light outside.  Not wanting to wake Linda, the lights remained off.  Now let me say, Linda likes to sleep in sometimes till 9:00 and never gets up early unless there is something special happening.

My breathing was not proper, just couldn’t seem to get enough breath.  Getting up, it was necessary to dress quietly as well as quickly since it was chilly.

Linda asked what I was doing and I explained my breathing was difficult, my lungs needed to get some fresh air so I was going outside for a walk.  Linda jumped up and insisted on going with me, now that never happens, normally she would just roll over and go to sleep.

My request for her to continue sleeping fell on deaf ears, she refused.  I managed to get down the three flights of stairs and then needed to sit.  At that point walking to the exit was just way too much effort, not possible.  Linda woke the manager and they helped me out the front door where we hailed a cab to head to the hospital.

In my opinion the ride to the hospital was likened to an amusement park ride.  Since the driver could see my problem appeared serious, he drove very fast and stop lights had no meaning.  At 6:00 am on a Sunday morning traffic was not a problem in fact, it was a blessing we found a fast taxi.

We arrived at Mount Sinai Hospital in Cuenca where two emergency staff quickly assisted with a wheelchair.  Normally this would be demeaning to me, a big, strong guy, however, at this moment, my body felt a ride seemed like a wonderful idea.  It was sure a lot smoother than the taxi.  After a short time in the emergency room they released me, thinking there was no problem, but I was not able to get to the elevator.  So, back to the emergency room I went, later to be rolled to Intensive Care.

The testing began and they did an MRI, X-rays, blood work and God knows what else.   Three doctors  came in on that Sunday just for little, OK, big old me.  Unfortunately, finding my problem seemed to be a challenge.
Around 1pm I was sitting on the table, afraid to lay down for fear my body would never rise again.  They had mentioned morphine about a half hour earlier, however, I refused, the thought of not waking again crossed my mind.

My eyes were watching the huge round clock on the wall while my breathing was getting shorter and shorter, taking about four breaths per second.   In fact, my breathing sounded more like a train going uphill, when I was really a person going down hill.

Watching that clock brought about the realization my life could end in perhaps fifteen or twenty minutes.  My thoughts turned to Linda, after all, we had just arrived in Ecuador and was staying in a hotel.  A fear came over me with the thought of leaving Linda alone.

At that moment I prayed, “Dear Lord, you have to intervene right away because my wife is alone in this brand new country.”   It was that short and then my ears once again heard the word morphine.

I remember saying, “Well, Lord, if I’m going to go, I feel it may be better with morphine than what’s happening now. This is in your hands.”
They put the morphine in the IV and my breathing became relaxed and I actually got two nice small breaths before going night night.

Upon waking, I saw that big round clock showing 2am and when I gazed around, wow, I realized I was in the same room and I was alive.  I could hear myself shout in my brain, “ I’m Alive.”  I thanked God.

The nurses allowed me to go to the bathroom on my own, please no bed pan.   Exiting the bathroom, I felt so good I performed a little dance in time with the music.  I was alive and I was a happy guy.

My time in intensive care was three days and then moved to a private room for three more days.  My yummy meals were just as requested, without carbs, and everyone at Mount Sinai Hospital was so kind to me.  The total cost of my hospital stay in 2010, everything included was $2,800.

I prefer all natural healthcare but sometimes there’s an emergency or medical need that requires immediate attention and recommend Mount Sinai in Cuenca, Ecuador.  And, I highly recommend a prayer in the time of need, the Lord does answer.   He certainly answered my prayer.

My Reasons for Believing in Christ: Can God put words in your mouth?

My Reasons for Believing in Christ, other than the Written Word.  Story 2 of 4

Can God put words in your mouth?  The prayer came from my mouth, the words passed through my lips, and although Linda said my prayer was fantastic, my memory had no clue, not a one.  If a million dollars were to be given to me for recalling just two words, it would be a lost million for all I can recall is one word, Amen.

Traveling the entire USA visiting retread shops included Atlanta, Georgia, and since there were many shops in that territory, our stay was usually a delightful three weeks, and we loved it.  We parked our RV at the KOA in Kennasaw, Georgia, just outside  Atlanta.  It was such a beautiful campground, perhaps more like a park or forest.  You would seldom see the sun burst through the trees because they were huddled so close and the singing of birds was a delight along with the chattering of squirrels.  The campsites were spaced far apart so it gave that real camping feeling.  It was truly one of our favorite campgrounds in the entire USA and hopefully it is still in business.

Luckily we found a nearby church we were especially fond of with a membership of around a hundred people. The sermons were truly enjoyable as they had a lot of meat to them so we felt we had learned something important, something we could use to make our life and marriage even better.

I invited the minister to lunch a couple of times and enjoyed our talks.  His belief in God was firm with a great foundation of knowledge and most importantly, he had a way of sharing his knowledge without making a person feel inferior.  Did I mention he was a very interesting fellow?

While his name is forgotten, he isn’t, and while this is my feeling about him, it wasn’t the feelings of perhaps half of his congregation because many felt his sermons were too hard.  It was a church split.  Of course, I wanted to give my input beings I’m a very opinionated person.  Thinking of all the cool things I could share with the church and how I could help them with all their problems, I had many helpful answers in my head.

While in prayer one morning before church, I said “Lord, if I were to be called for the opening prayer, this is what I would say”.  Then I recited a long prayer that I was so proud of.  I’m sure it included what a great service the minister gave and how it was important to all stand together as one church, not divided.  And, if the congregation worked together, they would have a stronger church.  Also, it was an honor to attend their church and much more.   While praying is a form of talking to the Lord, and I’m sure he heard me, as usual He had nothing to say and wasn’t it expected.  However, in the end He did have other plans.

Keep in mind, I was a visitor to the church, not part of the congregation, so what were the odds I’d ever have the opportunity to share My important prayer?

Well, low and behold, the minister began the service and it nearly took my breath away when suddenly he ask if I would say the opening prayer.  You would think nervousness would have overwhelmed me, however, I jumped right up and began MY prayer.  When finished, those words of mine couldn’t be recalled, not a word.  When I ask Linda  how I did, she said it was beautiful.  My thoughts were all about me and what a great job I did, now wouldn’t it be nice to know what I said?

Come to find out, opportunity does knock because, lucky me, the tapes of the sermon were sold at the door, which would include MY prayer.  We bought a tape and I could hardly wait to hear myself.  I carefully placed the jewel in an empty pocket and quickly proceeded to our blue Dodge van.  I put the tape in the cassette player before my butt hit the seat, and guess what?  It was BLANK!

It was a long week waiting for the next Sunday, I had what is called, “ants in the pants”.   All my thoughts that week were geared on purchasing another tape so I could hear myself.  Just knowing we were returning to the same church the next week was very heartwarming.

Sunday finally arrived, the excitement was overwhelming, why I almost danced up the stairs and nearly ran over the nice lady near the tape table because I was so anxious.  Once again, I place it in a pocket all by itself, protecting it with my life if necessary.  If the service was an hour, it seem like four.  How time flies when you are having fun.  When the service ended, I didn’t spend anytime to visit with friends, I was flying out the door.

Linda was a distance behind me, in fact, I was in the van with the tape loaded, the play button pressed and then I waited.  When Linda got in the van and took one look at me, she knew something was wrong.  Yes, you guessed it, the tape was BLANK.  My disappointment vanished almost instantly and was replaced with chills going up and down my spine.  I realized the prayer I said was “His Prayer”, not mine.  I’m sure God was sitting up there on a cloud someplace shaking his finger at me.  I had been standing so straight and tall, possible with my head so full of myself and taking credit for my great prayer.  Then I realized God put those words in my mouth and the feeling of stealing “His Words” came to mind.  Since I couldn’t recall what I had said, I should have realized right then, not a week and two blank tapes later, the prayer wasn’t my prayer, it was Gods, so God did have another plan, as usual my plans sometimes forget God.

So, can God put words in your mouth?  I do believe so.

Reasons for believing in Christ other than the written Word. Story 1 of 4

Thirty some odd years ago, my job was traveling the entire USA in an RV, it required three years of traveling to cover the entire USA.  My motorcycle would rack up 25,000 miles yearly riding to retread shops.

My purpose was to give B&J blades to the shops if they were using a competitors’ blade which was less than 20% of the time.  The blades were mounted on a hub around 12” in size, which was attached to a large machine, spinning the hub  at a high revolution into a rotating tire to remove excess rubber from the tire before retreading it. Places where rubber dust is used would be running tracks and walkways and we have seen it at a playground.

There are many different applications for the rubber dust. One day my motorcycle, Cocoa, was in for repair and my 76 Dodge van had to be driven to the retread shops. Driving North on highway 76 in Pennsylvania heading for one of the retread shops on my list to visit.

My thinking seemed to be geared towards a Biblical poem and my fear was those thoughts would vaporize if they weren’t placed on paper.  My pen began jotting words on a blank page and the verse had its beginning. Normally my attention would have been given to the lovely rolling hills of Pennsylvania, one of the prettiest states to ride a motorcycle.

Normally my attention would have been on the landscape, however, with Cocoa being in for repair, my thoughts were moved towards the writing of a Biblical poem. Staying between the lines on the highway was easy as my speed was being held just under the limit and keeping in the right lane was a given.

However, not giving attention as to when I was to exit, that thought was someplace off in a foggy distance.  As the van approached my exit, my poem writing trance was interrupted with my windshield being covered by the words of the next exit sign. It only lasted a second, but it seemed as though the sign had been pasted on the windshield.

Luckily, we, The van and I were able, with a twist of my wrist, to exit. Not giving this phenomenal experience wasn’t given any thought. Once off the freeway my attention could now be given to the beauty of PA and its green rolling hills.  For some reason, though everything seems far prettier when riding cocoa, I missed her on these trips. After my visit to the retread shop, The van was once again placed in gear and we headed South on highway 76 towards the campground.

Once again my thoughts were focused on the Biblical poem, a trance was again entered while my mind was trying to rhyme words. Being in a daze while writing, my attention was not geared towards exit signs to get off the freeway.  As the van closed in on my exit, the sign once again flashed across the entire front windshield waking me to the realization, it was time to get off.

This experience happened just twice on the same day in the same way. This time a realization of what had happened couldn’t be a coincidence.  This time the phenomenal experience had to have a purpose, I felt the Lord was sending me a message.  What was His message?  I feel He was simply making a point of His presence and I have felt that way for the past thirty years or so.

Why would I feel this way?  I feel if had been writing a poem, not of the Bible, none of this would have happened.  Since the beginning of Christ, the Bible says God no longer speaks to us, we go through Christ and the Holy Spirit to reach God.  However, God let’s us know His presence on occasions, I feel this was one of those times. I also feel if we look for the presence of God, we will feel it often, not necessarily when we want it, but when God wants us to feel it.

Most of the time we miss it or we just take the incident, like the above story, as a coincidence.  This was no coincidence to me, chills ran up and down my spine and after exiting the ramp I had to pull off the side of the road and thank God for His presence. My next experience brings more humility to me than ever before or since.

12 year old paints Heaven (Absolutely amazing)

Makes one pause, and reflect!!

Some of her art work is at Mardel and is so beautiful it takes your breath away

If you read the book “Heaven is for Real,” this is the little girl who was talked about in the book
and her rendition of Christ. Every time the little boy in the book saw a picture of Christ, his folks
would ask him if the pictures he saw actually looked like Christ. He would always say no until he
saw Akiane’s picture of Christ, then he said this is what Christ looks like. After you scroll through
her artwork there is a video at the end.

Absolutely amazing. Be sure and watch her video very near the end of the site…
after the last picture in the slide presentation…..

This is just too beautiful to describe…………………..
The Video at the end of the little girl’s website is beautiful and amazing.
This artist is lovely and her work is gorgeously spiritual.
